Led by Betty De la Cruz’ 13 kills and .441 attack percentage, the Omaha Supernovas found their first-ever win on Saturday night in front of 11,403 over the San Diego Mojo. A 3-0 sweep (-17, -18, -22) that saw Omaha out-block the Mojo 8-0 got the winless monkey off the preseason top pick of the PVF.
Ronika Stone, a rare bright spot for the Mojo, was nearly perfect – a .600 clip with 12 kills and no errors on 20 total swings. First touch didn’t allow the Mojo to involve her enough to make a difference, however.
Omaha moves to 1-1 in league play while San Diego dropped to 0-2.
