PVT POWER RANKINGS – FEBRUARY 13

Each week, our staff will rank all seven franchises based upon the following factors:

  1. Resume to this point
  2. Eye Test/Perceived Ability
  3. Championship Winning Ability

This Week’s:

  1. ATLANTA VIBE (4-1; 1st place)
They suffered their first loss, but continue to show depth the rest of the league is jealous of. Alli (Stumler) Linnehan remains out, but Leketor Memba-Meneh has stepped in and filled the role while Leah Edmond continues her stellar start to the season. Vibe are the cream of the crop.
  2. GRAND RAPIDS RISE (2-1; 2nd place)
An impressive start for Cathy George’s team saw Ashley Evans’ offense take flight in dominant performances vs Columbus and league-leading Atlanta. Claire Chaussee is averaging 4.7 kills/set and the Rise have been very impressive through three matches.
  3. OMAHA SUPERNOVAS (2-2; 3rd place)
Still unquestionably talented, Omaha may have turned a corner with the win on the road in Grand Rapids. 1-2 at home, but now undefeated away from the CHI Health Center, Omaha needs to use the best crowd in the league to their advantage and start winning tight matchups.
  4. ORLANDO VALKYRIE (1-2; 5th place)
Orlando has battled with every opponent and you could argue we have them ranked too low. Two five-set losses to the best team in the PVF and no other blemishes. Don’t be surprised to see the Valkyries surprise a few teams in the next week or two.
  5. VEGAS THRILL (1-1; 4th place)
A win over Omaha will continue to look good and one loss to Orlando is all we have to work with thus far. A setting corp most teams would trade for and some scrappy defensive play has them at 5 this week.
  6. COLUMBUS FURY (0-1; 6th place)
The only match of the season came on January 25th where they were dominated by Grand Rapids in every category. Hitting .070 on the season isn’t exactly a winning recipe for the Fury.
  7. SAN DIEGO MOJO (0-2; 7th place)
Two early losses and some injury issues plague the Mojo. Expect to see more of the same unless something changesl.
